Spotlight: Mt. Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro is an inactive stratovolcano in north-eastern Tanzania
rising 4,600 m (15,092 ft) from its base. Around 25,000 people per year attempt to summit the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In 1889, German geographer Hans Meyer and Austrian mountain climber Ludwig Purtscheller were the first to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro. Click the links below for more information.
